The Lancet: No need for mass revaccination against coronavirus
An international team of scientists wrote an article stating that a massive revaccination against coronavirus is not necessary. The material appeared in the authoritative medical journal The Lancet.
“The urgent need for mass revaccination of the population has not been proven by us, since the effectiveness of vaccines as a whole remains high – at least at the current stage of the pandemic,” the publication emphasizes.
Scientists believe that vaccine drugs may actually weaken. However, they are still able to protect the body from complications from the disease.
Experts refer to the peculiarity of the immune system, which is that a person is protected from external influences at several levels. In this case, even a slight decrease in the level of antibodies does not deprive him of the ability to withstand severe forms of coronavirus infection.
Earlier, an immunologist, doctor of medical sciences Vladislav Zhemchugov said on the air of MIR 24 that vaccines against COVID-19 should be distributed to all countries in order to reduce the amount of the virus on a planetary scale. And the director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus, believes that all countries of the world should have equal access to vaccines against COVID-19.
