Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke about the situation in Kazakhstan. His words on Wednesday, January 5, are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The press secretary of the Russian president noted that in the current situation it is extremely important that no one interferes in what is happening from the outside. He also expressed confidence that the country's authorities are able to independently understand and resolve what is happening.
Earlier it was reported that shots were heard near the residence of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev in Almaty.
Protests in Kazakhstan have been going on since January 2. On the morning of January 5, the head of Kazakhstan accepted the resignation of the government. At the moment, a state of emergency has been introduced in Alma-Ata, as well as in Almaty and Mangistau for two weeks.
