The Kremlin does not plan to announce in advance the appointment of a new head of the Ministry of Emergencies. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

He stressed that the name of the new head of the department will become known only after the president signs the order on the appointment.

“We never announce personnel issues in advance,” added Peskov.

Earlier, the Kremlin stated that there is no definite candidate for the post of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Since September, the department has been headed by Colonel-General Alexander Chupriyan.

Chupriyan was appointed to this position after the tragic death of the previous head of the Ministry of Emergencies, Yevgeny Zinichev, who died during an EMERCOM exercise near Norilsk.
