More than 8 thousand people from 315 cities took part in the selection stage of the All-Russian quiz-marathon, organized by the Russian society “Knowledge”. The intellectual competition took place on June 12 and attracted a large number of young people from all regions of the country. The marathon became the largest event of this format: the Knowledge Society set a Russian record for holding a quiz game with the largest number of teams playing simultaneously in an online format. 1278 teams took part in the competition, and this fact was recorded in the Russian Book of Records during the live broadcast of the marathon.

Teams from Yoshkar-Ola, Moscow, Sterlitamak, Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg took the first places in the rating of the most intelligent and erudite. The guys competed in the knowledge of the history and geography of Russia, answered questions about science, culture, art and sports. Fans watched the teams' play live in the official group of the Knowledge Society on the Vkontakte social network, as well as on the marathon website.

According to the results of the game, the 500 teams with the most points will advance to the next stage. The guys will fight for the right to come to Moscow for the final tournament of the quiz marathon. The semi-final will be held on June 19 in different cities of Russia in full-time format. After summing up the results, the 100 most intelligent teams will go to the Russian capital for the final battle of wits, which will be held on June 26.

All finalists will receive prizes: the organizers of the competition will present each participant with a certificate for a trip to Russia. Ten teams that won the final, as well as five teams that will be declared the best in special nominations, will choose a trip to one of the most attractive tourist destinations in our country. The list of these attractions includes the Putorana Plateau, Lake Baikal, Karelia, Kamchatka and Altai.

“The wide coverage and geography of the participants shows that the format of entertaining intellectual contests is in demand among young people,” said Maxim Dreval, General Director of the Russian Society “Knowledge”. – For many, this is a great opportunity to express themselves, get to know their peers, and also spend time with benefit. In addition, this is a unique chance to visit Moscow and become part of a grandiose large-scale event, which will bring together five hundred smart talented young people from all over Russia. We are looking forward to the semi-finals in order to communicate with all participants live, get feedback and plan new activities that will meet the interests of young people and motivate them to develop and search for new knowledge.

Another reward in the course of the competition is the points awarded to the participants by the partner of the quiz marathon, the Other Delo platform. Children will be able to exchange these points for various prizes, for example, for an astronaut's autograph or for a subscription in online cinemas, for tickets for the European Football Championship, a visit to Baikonur or an internship in large domestic and international companies. Each participant in the final will receive two thousand points, semifinalists will be awarded one thousand points, the rest of the participants will receive 500 points.
