SHOT: those detained for the murder of a 5-year-old girl in Kostroma wanted to kidnap a boy

Denis Gerasimov and Vadim Belyakov, arrested for the murder of a five-year-old girl in Kostroma, initially wanted to kidnap the little boy, but could not find a suitable victim. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel with reference to the initial interrogation of the detainees.
According to the channel, Belyakov and Gerasimov are in a homosexual relationship, they met about four months ago. Gerasimov wanted to “present” the kidnapped boy to Belyakov “for sexual pleasures.” It is clarified that for a week they were looking for a suitable child at the age of about 12 years in the Chernorechye microdistrict in Kostroma, including near schools, but could not find anyone. The men saw the five-year-old girl near the cultural center on Severnaya Pravda Street, where she went out for a few minutes while her mother cleaned the room after the New Year holidays.
Also, details about the identities of the two suspects have become known. 24-year-old Belyakov previously attended a school for children with developmental delays, at the age of 13 he had sexual contact with a 32-year-old man. Gerasimov, 44, practiced sex with men in the colony, where he was serving a sentence for pedophilia and making child pornography.
The crime was reported on January 5. The girl's body was found in one of the city's hostels. The suspects confessed to the crime. A criminal case was opened against the abductors under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder of a minor”), and its investigation is ongoing.
