The founder and head of the Baltic Industrial Company (BPC) Diana Kaledina, who is called the iron lady of Russian industry, was detained in Moscow. This was reported by Kommersant.

The entrepreneur was suspected of a contract scam. According to the investigation, in 2016, her company entered into an agreement with the Signal Scientific and Production Enterprise JSC. BOD was supposed to supply the organization with universal metalworking equipment. 15 million rubles were allocated for its creation.

Investigators claim that Kaledina supplied the company with a Chinese machine under the guise of a Russian machine at an inflated cost. A criminal case was initiated under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (“Fraud”).

The detainee denies all charges, recalling that the machine was accepted by the customer after a technical examination, no complaints about its quality arose. Also, the defense of Kaledinaya noted that the company has all the acts that confirm that the goods are made in Russia, and their value corresponds to that stated in the contract.

The Iron Lady believes that through this criminal case, the raiders wanted to take over her business.
