The Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban called the immigrants a threat comparable to biological weapons. It is quoted by La Vanguardia.
He called on the authorities to deny them entry into the country at the time of the pandemic COVID-19. According to Orban, “not all, but some of them” can be carriers of coronavirus infection.
“All illegal immigrants who want to enter the country, violating Hungarian laws, but also represent a biological threat,” — said the Prime Minister. He added that to monitor the health status of all arriving in Hungary is impossible, so it’s easier to close the borders.
In Hungary, recorded 4.6 thousand cases of infection with coronavirus, 602 people died from complications of COVID-19.
30 March it was reported that Orban had received “almost unlimited power” at the time of the pandemic. So, the ruling party “fides” (headed by the Prime Minister) adopted the law on States of emergency, not to a time limit.
