Sullivan himself stated that the United States is concerned about the attack on democratic institutions in Hungary, as well as the situation with corruption in the country.
“What I will say on behalf of the Biden administration is that we have made no secret of our deep concern about Budapest's assault on democratic institutions, particularly the judiciary, corruption in Hungary and other manifestations of the erosion of democracy in the country with its leadership,” Sullivan said. in response to the question whether the US government considers Hungary a dictatorship.
