The message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country says that the parties "indicated the need for Kiev to unconditionally ensure the rights of all national minorities living in the country".

While Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kyiv, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the conversation was initiated by the Hungarian side. According to the press release, the parties “highly assessed the level of Russian-Hungarian political dialogue.”

The message also said that the parties “indicated the need for Kiev to unconditionally ensure the rights of all national minorities living in the country.” Note that Budapest previously constantly accused Ukraine of violating the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia.

“It is emphasized that bilateral cooperation, despite the extremely difficult international situation, continues to develop progressively in the spirit of healthy pragmatism and mutual benefit,” the Russian Foreign Ministry cynically said in a statement.

There have been no reports about the conversation at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry yet.

Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Kyiv today, July 2, on an unannounced visit.

On the eve of his visit to Kyiv, he announced the “first steps” towards peace.

Diplomat Andrei Veselovsky named the main purpose of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s visit to Ukraine. People's Deputy Alexander Merezhko expressed his point of view on why Orban came to Ukraine.
