The holding of the World Economic Forum was postponed in Davos due to the situation with the Omicron coronavirus strain.
It was tentatively planned that it will take place on January 17-21, 2022 in Davos-Klosters in Switzerland. It is now expected that the forum will be able to gather in early summer 2022.
As the organizers emphasized, the meeting was planned to be devoted to the development of capitalism of all stakeholders, the use of technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and a more inclusive future in the world of work.
But instead of a face-to-face meeting scheduled for the summer, the organizers decided to hold a series of online sessions on The State of the World at the end of January.
The last time the World Economic Forum in Davos was held in its usual format was in January 2020 of the year. This was before the coronavirus pandemic began to spread across Europe.
In January 2021, due to the pandemic, the forum was held online. It was a weeklong virtual conference on the Davos Agenda. At the end of May 2021, a physical summit was planned in Singapore, but it was postponed due to the situation with Covid-19.
The World Economic Forum in Davos was held annually before the pandemic. The event is always attended by world political leaders and business representatives.
