Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) head Dana White bragged about the promotion's accomplishments in 2021. He announced this in an interview with ESPN.
White claims the promotion's fanbase has grown by 40 percent. According to the head of the UFC, this is due to the large international events that took place in Abu Dhabi against the backdrop of the pandemic.
White stressed that unlike other sports organizations, the UFC has not stopped holding events despite the coronavirus pandemic. “We were already on track in 2020 and we continued to work at the same pace this year,” he said.
In 2020, White faced criticism from journalists for his desire to hold events amid the spread of the coronavirus. The UFC only paused in April. International events were held by the UFC on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, tournaments in the United States at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
