UFC head Dana White wanted to persuade Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov for another fight. In the near future, White intends to meet with the athlete to discuss this issue, reports ESPN.
“I am obviously meeting him because I think he has to fight again. See what he did to every opponent he faced. (…) I think he should fight again, “the head of the UFC stressed, adding that he intends to put pressure on Nurmagomedov as he can.
White added that he would like to bring the fighter back for another fight, so that he achieved 30 unbeaten performances in the Octagon. Currently, there are 29 victories in the athlete's career. The head of the UFC is sure that Nurmagomedov's father, Abdulmanap, who died last year, would like a 30th victory for his son.
The head of the UFC has previously also talked about his desire to bring the fighter back. However, Nurmagomedov himself, announcing a meeting with White, said that he would not want to return to the promotion.
Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from MMA after his victory over Gage at the UFC tournament on October 24. The Russian defended his organization's lightweight title for the third time. According to the fighter, he promised his mother to end his career.
