The Russians surrounded the city of Konotop in the Sumy region, and the equipment of the Russian Federation goes to Kiev.
This was announced by the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration Dmitry Zhivitsky.
– To date, the city of Konotop has been taken into the ring, the city of Akhtyrka heroically twice repelled the enemy offensive. Unfortunately, the settlements of the Sumy region are being besieged,” he said.
He added that the equipment of the enemy left Sumy in the direction of Kiev.
– A lot of equipment that has passed in transit is sent to the western direction. I appeal to everyone who can fight with weapons in their hands, meet the enemy in our native land, – said the chairman of the Sumy Regional State Administration.
On the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine.
In a matter of minutes after Putin's address, Ukrainian strategic facilities received missile strikes from the Russian Armed Forces.
On the evening of the same day, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a general mobilization.
Shortly thereafter, the Ukrainian president addressed the people, in which he spoke about the results of the first day of the war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
