General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the New Year. TASS reports.
“I am deeply satisfied with the results of the development of relations between the PRC and Russia. In 2022, our countries will celebrate the Sino-Russian Year of Sports, and we will write a new page in the history of friendship between the two countries, passed down from generation to generation, ”the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry reports Xi Jinping.
The President of the People's Republic of China also recalled that the Russian President will attend the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. He also assured that he was ready to support cooperation with Russia in the field of space exploration, energy and trade.
Earlier, the recipients of greeting cards from Putin became known. Some of them include the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, US President Joe Biden, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Xi Jinping, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Queen Elizabeth II. In total, the Russian president congratulated the leaders of 42 countries.
It is noted that at the same time, the Russian president did not congratulate the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia, Vladimir Zelensky and Salome Zurabishvili, on the New Year.
