Bastrykin demanded to report on the progress of the investigation into the murder of a 5-year-old girl in Kostroma

The chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR), Alexander Bastrykin, took personal control of the criminal case on the murder of a five-year-old girl in Kostroma. This was announced on Wednesday, January 5, on the agency's website.
It is specified that the head of the ICR demanded from the acting head of the investigation department of the IC of Russia in the Kostroma region to submit an operational report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case.
According to the investigation, on January 4, 2022, the child was abducted while walking by two men and carried away in an unknown direction. Later, the girl's body was found in a room of one of the city dormitories.
“112”, in turn, reports that the criminals first raped a girl in a local hostel, after which they inflicted multiple knife wounds and hid the body in a sports bag.
The suspects in the murder have already been detained. They confessed to the crime, a criminal case was initiated under article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder of a minor”). “Investigative actions are being carried out with the detainees, the investigation intends to apply for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention,” the ICR specifies.
