The head of the Federal Security Service of Russia, Alexander Bortnikov, said that the Internet has a whole infrastructure “producing” future terrorists.

According to him, young people are in a special risk group. In particular, young netizens are recruited through social media and chat rooms in popular video games.

“Moreover, Islamist groups have already reached the level of creating their own clones of such games. They affect the consciousness of users by including the commission of terrorist acts in game situations, – Bortnikov said at the Moscow conference on international security.

In 2019, a survey showed that more than half of the citizens of the Russian Federation (58%) are sure that video games do more harm than good to a person. At the same time, only 5% of respondents, aged 18 to 24, are sure of the absolute positive impact of video games.
