The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, went into self-isolation after contact with the infected coronavirus. She announced this on Twitter.
“I was informed that I attended a meeting last Tuesday attended by a person who tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. In accordance with the current rules, I am in self-isolation until tomorrow morning, ”wrote von der Leyen. She also noted that one of her tests last Thursday gave a negative result.
Earlier it was reported that the EU summit was postponed due to the coronavirus. President of the Council of Europe Charles Michel postponed the event scheduled for September 24-25 to early October due to suspicions of coronavirus infection.
