The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen commented on the elections in Belarus, condemning the brutal suppression of the protests and urging the government to accurately count and publish voting results. She made a statement in Twitter.
“Brutal suppression of peaceful protests is unacceptable in Europe. Fundamental human rights in Belarus must be respected. I call upon the Belarusian authorities to ensure accurate counting and publication of votes cast in yesterday’s elections,” wrote von der Leyen.
