The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin, told RT that the situation in Donbass is currently “tense”.

According to him, “over the past months, Ukraine has been on an increasing escalation.”

“Since the beginning of the year, 9 nine people have died in our country – seven servicemen and two civilians, including one child. 11 people were injured. About 60 houses and seven infrastructure facilities were destroyed. Since the beginning of the conflict, 4,970 people have died on the territory of the DPR, of which 91 are children. More than 7.8 thousand people received injuries of varying severity, ”said Pushilin.

He said that “at the moment Ukraine is ready for full-fledged military operations, whether such an order is issued or not, time will tell, but Ukraine has such an opportunity.”

“For seven years we have been living in readiness mode. We have created a full-fledged army … the DPR is ready for any development of events. We are doing everything possible so that the conflict does not flare up, ”added the head of the DPR.

Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin said that the rhetoric of the Ukrainian leadership regarding the conflict in Donbass went far and could lead to the most dire consequences.

France and Germany also expressed concern about the growing number of ceasefire violations in Donbas. The parties noted that they are closely monitoring the situation.

On April 3, the press service of the People's Militia Directorate of the LPR reported that the Ukrainian army for the first time since the end of July used artillery prohibited by the Minsk agreements when shelling the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic.
