Reddit user @ Ch3m1cal420 shared the story of how he took unusual revenge on the family for imposing religious views. The guy said that at Christmas he gave his parents and brother books about atheism. Many users approved of the author's act, considering the behavior of his family to be disrespectful.
According to the user, he grew up in a fairly religious family, but became an atheist while in college. The user noted that he is respectful of someone else's faith if it does not harm the people around him. However, the guy's relatives could not come to terms with his worldview: they are trying in every way to return him to Christianity. “Every year at Christmas they give me some kind of religious book. I have repeatedly asked them to stop forcing me to their faith, but they have been ignoring my requests for ten years now, ”the hero of the story complained.
The user said that in revenge on his loved ones, he decided to give them books criticizing religion for Christmas. He presented his parents and brother with works by Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens and Greg M. Epstein. His loved ones, unpacking gifts, looked angry. “My father said,” What got into you that you bought us these blasphemous books? ” It is easy to imagine how they were shocked by the sudden realization when I, in turn, asked: “So you don't like it when I try to impose my worldview on you?” – added the guy.
The narrator noted that he also gave their loved ones their real gifts for Christmas. “I hope they have learned their lesson, but I will not be silent anymore,” he said.
In the comments, many site users admired @ Ch3m1cal420's actions. “Steep move. And it's great that you gave them other gifts anyway, ”said the user. According to users, the guy's revenge was justified. “Well played. I am a Catholic and never impose my views on other people, ”wrote another commentator. Many also approved of the guy's idea, because he repeatedly asked loved ones to stop imposing views.
