Corona money for waitresses and waitresses
The federal government agreed on new corona aid for employees on short-time work and closed industries. There is a “tip bonus”.
“With economic aid and short-time work support, Austria is in first place in Europe,” said Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz after the Council of Ministers on Wednesday. However, the Chancellor is aware: “Some particularly affected sectors continue to suffer massively from the necessary restrictions. It is therefore important to give the companies affected and their employees special support.” An important point where alleviation is to be created: “For companies whose employees are on short-time work for a long time, the accumulated vacations become an additional burden. There is a bonus for this, as well as for employees in the tip-intensive industries. In addition, we double the one-time Liquidity support for all companies that apply for the default bonus. “
For all companies in which employees have been on short-time work since November, the state reimburses 1,000 euros per employee . Both companies and employees benefit from the sum:
➤ 825 euros (net) go to the employer as a subsidy for accumulated vacation entitlements
➤ 175 euros (net) go to employees in tip-intensive industries
The federal government takes between 140 and 150 million euros in hand, the payment is to be made in March. 20,000 companies and around 150,000 employees are to benefit from this new regulation.
Tourism Minister Elisabeth Köstinger: “Tips are a fixed and calculated salary component in gastronomy that employees have had to do without for a year. That is one reason why more and more tourism employees are considering changing industries. We want ours Keeping skilled workers. Therefore, everyone who was affected by the tip fee will receive a tip replacement of 175 euros. “
In the case of the default bonus for industries particularly affected by the lockdown, there is a one-time doubling of the liquidity aid. Specifically, that means:
➤ The bonus payment in March will be 30 percent of the previous year's sales instead of the usual 15 percent and is non-refundable.
➤ The upper limit for March will be increased from 30,000 euros to 50,000 euros .
All around 60,000 businesses that apply for a cancellation bonus are eligible. In the budget, this will come to around 230 million euros.
In Vorarlberg as early as next Monday, in the rest of the country the gastronomy should at least be allowed to reopen their pub gardens from March 27th. For many who have not yet relied on outdoor dining areas or have to carry out renovations, this is an additional financial burden. The government is now paying affected companies a grant of up to 20,000 euros.
