During the Mid-Autumn Festival traditionally celebrated in China in September, the wind tore off the giant inflatable moon decoration. A balloon reaching the height of a one-story building rolled through the streets, scaring away passers-by and cyclists.
A video appeared on the Web in which two men unsuccessfully try to catch up with a huge balloon in the shape of the moon rolling on the ground. The inflatable Earth satellite is one of the props used in China during the Mid-Autumn Celebration, which coincides with the September rise of the full moon.
On this day, the Chinese traditionally decorate the streets of the city using images of the Moon, including inflatable ones.
One of these decorations escaped from the organizers of the festival in one of the cities of Henan province. A giant ball swept through the city streets, blocked traffic on a small section of the road, rolled right over cars, and frightened passers-by. True, the soft design did no harm to anyone.
Social media users recalled that this is not the first time that the inflatable moon escapes from its owners – a similar incident occurred in Fuzhou in 2016. Fortunately, the last time, too, everything went without much harm.
