This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Affairs of Germany Annalena Berbock, reports CNN.
She noted that high inflation affected not only Germany, since this phenomenon is global. In addition, she recalled that previously the German economy was largely dependent on gas and other energy supplies from Russia.
Berbock said that most Germans understand after Russia's invasion of Ukraine that they could have been there Ukrainians. When asked whether the Germans were experiencing internal fatigue, she answered: “No.”
“In times like these, you must make the right decision to support Ukraine, the world. But you must explain to people why we should do. You also have to work with other social programs to counteract the negative consequences for ordinary people and families. And that's what we're trying to do,” the minister said.
