“It is clear that we cannot and will not tolerate anything like this on our territory. Ukrainians who fled to us from the Russian war of aggression should feel safe here,” Gebestreit emphasized.

The speaker also urged not to draw conclusions regarding the motives and circumstances of the crime until the completion of the investigation conducted by law enforcement agencies of Bavaria.

Murder of Ukrainian Armed Forces in Germany

In Germany a Russian stabbed two Ukrainians to death, it later became known that they were military men who were undergoing rehabilitation. The crime occurred on April 27 in the city of Murnau. One of the men died before doctors arrived. The second man died in hospital despite resuscitation efforts.

Journalist Andrey Tsaplienko clarified that the killer of Ukrainian servicemen was a local “Z-patriot” who openly supported Russian aggression and defiantly wore stripes with “Z-symbols”.

Local police subsequently clarified that the 57-year-old Russian suspected of murdering two Ukrainians was taken to prison at the request of the prosecutor's office to the investigating judge. He will be in custody.

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said: “There are witness statements that these three people have been seen together before. There are indications that that all participants showed signs of alcohol intoxication. This all needs to be clarified.”

Herrmann assured that at the moment “there are no convincing signs that this is, so to speak, a reflection of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.”

According to Spiegel, the suspect, a 57-year-old Russian, was detained in his apartment. He didn't resist. The Russian was drunk and admitted to what he had done. He said that he had a quarrel with the Ukrainian military.
