Scholz also spoke out against those who call on Ukraine to stop resisting the aggressor.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz supported the proposal of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to invite representatives of the Russian Federation to the second peace summit, scheduled for the end of 2024.
This is reported by UNIAN.
“I’m very glad that the Ukrainian president said what we also want – for Russia to be there at the next meeting. This is also correct,” said Scholz.
At the same time, Scholz spoke out against those calling on Ukraine to stop resisting the aggressor.
“Peace and security must be guaranteed, but not by capitulating Ukraine. Not by starting another war again,” Scholz emphasized.
Recall that it was previously reported that Scholz rejected Zelensky’s call regarding the shooting down of missiles and drones.
In addition, we previously reported that Ukraine wants to hold a new peace summit with Russia before the US elections.
