The information about Artyom Dziuba's refusal to renew the contract with Zenit is untrue. Alexander Medvedev, general director of the St. Petersburg club, spoke about the situation in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, in the agreement of the forward with the blue-white-blue there is an option for automatic renewal. “Whether it is being implemented will become clear towards the end of the season,” Medvedev added.
Earlier on Thursday, December 30, it was reported that Dziuba had rejected the blue-white-blue offer to extend the contract. It was clarified that he has many options for continuing his career in Russia and in Europe.
Dziuba has been defending Zenit's colors since 2015. As part of the blue-white-blue, he won the Russian championship three times and twice – the Cup of the country. This season, the Russian Premier League (RPL) striker has scored ten goals in 18 matches.
