Brazilian criminal Clauvino da Silva, known as “shorty” tried to escape from Gerisino prison wearing a mask and women's clothing.

Da Silva's 19-year-old daughter, who was reportedly involved in the escape, visited her father behind bars and intended to stay in his cell to provide a reprieve and complete his escape.
He was caught wearing a silicone mask, a long dark wig, glasses, jeans and a pink T-shirt with cartoon donuts on it.
Da Silva's idea, implemented in 2019, caused outrage because he was nervous and was caught red-handed.
The Secretary of State for the Rio de Janeiro Prison Administration released an image of the criminal in disguise, as well as a video of da Silva taking off his clothes and saying his full name.
Prison officials said he would be transferred to a maximum security prison and face disciplinary action, but he was found dead in his cell just three days after he was denied managed to attempt an escape. Guards found him in a cell in Banga 1 prison in the state of Rio de Janeiro, where he was transferred after an elaborate, failed escape attempt. He was kept in solitary confinement.
Da Silva was part of the leadership of the Red Command, one of the most powerful criminal groups in Brazil, which controlled a significant part of the drug trade in Rio de Janeiro.
He has been in prison since 2013 after being given a whopping 73 years and 10 months sentence.
