The ex-head will be in custody until February 4, 2022.

The Kyiv Court of Appeal, during the consideration of the complaint, detained the former chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Vladislav Manger, accused of organizing the attack and murder of activist Ekaterina Gandzyuk.

It is noted that the relevant decision was made by the court today, January 20. Exholove extended the preventive measure in the form of detention until February 4, 2022 without the possibility of bail.

“On January 20, 2022, the panel of judges of the Judicial Chamber for the consideration of criminal cases of the Kiev Court of Appeal considered an appeal filed by the defense party against the ruling of the Dnipro District Court of Kiev dated December 7, 2021, which satisfied the petition of the prosecutor of the Office of the Prosecutor General and extended the measures in the form of detention until February 4, 2022 inclusive without determining the amount of bail,” the message says.

According to the results of the appeal review, the ruling of the Dnipro District Court of Kiev was left as before, the appeal of the defense side was not satisfied.

Recall that on July 31, 2018, an attack on activist Ekaterina Gandzyuk took place in Kherson. The attacker was waiting for the victim at the entrance and splashed concentrated sulfuric acid on the girl. The woman received burns of 30% of her body. In August 2020, the Dnipro Court began considering the case of the murder of Ekaterina Gandzyuk on the merits. The former head of the Kherson Regional State Administration is charged under three articles: Part 3 of Article 27, part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 121 (“Intentional grievous bodily harm”) The Criminal Code of Ukraine.
