In Moscow, it is likely that specific varieties of coronavirus, different from others, have appeared.
According to Denis Logunov, deputy head of the Gamaleya Center, not all strains of the virus are dangerous, but doctors need to work ahead, identifying them and adapting to changes in infection, including the creation of new vaccines.
“Now we are monitoring (the situation – editor's note) in Moscow, and most importantly, that Moscow may still have its own Moscow strains,” Izvestia quoted him as saying.
Over the past day, the maximum number of cases since the beginning of the year was revealed in the capital – 6701 patients. Due to the increase in morbidity, the city authorities extended the holiday weekend until June 19, and also imposed restrictions on shopping centers and catering.
