FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said that terrorists are recruiting young people through the chat rooms of computer online games. To do this, they allegedly create fake versions of games.
According to Bortnikov, Islamist groups create clones of the game that allow them to influence the minds of people “by including the user in the game situations of committing terrorist attacks.”
The FSB director also said that it is not only terrorist organizations that “hunt” young people on the Internet. She, according to Bortnikov, falls under the influence of closed Internet communities, “promoting cults of violence against peers, suicide and other destructive forms of behavior.”
According to the head of the FSB, it is necessary to improve legislation to protect young people from the influence of the ideology of violence. Bortnikov also noted that the network has already developed an infrastructure “producing” future terrorists.
