The French police detained the largest drug lord of our time

It took French police 10 years to find and arrest the marijuana dealer, 41-year-old Mufid Bushibi. Drug Enforcement officials detained him in Dubai, where he was hiding under the assumed name of Tarek Tituni.

Bushibi was identified by photographs and fingerprints from the Interpol base and extradited to France.

He is considered one of the largest illegal suppliers of marijuana to Europe. His network supplied drug addicts in the EU countries with 50 tons of the potion a year. Annually Bushibi, according to various estimates, earned up to 70 million.

In March 2011, Bushibi's partner could not break away from a police chase. During the check, more than 700 kg of cannabis was found on him and a message in his mobile phone from a certain Pato, demanding to immediately leave the police and dispose of the goods. Law enforcement officials knew that Bushibi was hiding under the pseudonym Pato, who could not be detained then, writes Le Parisien.

Later it turned out that Bushibi left for the UAE, having previously changed his name and documents. In the Emirates, he led the usual way of life for a rich man, but continued to trade in drugs.

“In Dubai, my client has real estate, cars and a luxury villa,” says Bushibi's lawyer Thomas Bidnik. – He invested a lot in the UAE economy, so he was in good standing with the local authorities and businessmen.

Now, sitting behind bars, Bushibi is cooperating with the investigation in the hope that his sentence will be reduced and a lighter sentence will be passed.
