Employees of a small French company in Montpellier, France now have one additional day off.

At the beginning of the year, the Scop management decided to find out about the mood of their colleagues by sending them an anonymous questionnaire to fill out. Employees were asked if they were satisfied with everything in the workplace. Also, the management wanted to know about the wishes of the team in terms of changing the work schedule and working conditions.

The women did not remain silent and said that they would not refuse one day off during critical days. They wrote that the first day is often the most painful, so it is better for them to be at home.

– 88.9% of the women surveyed complained about painful periods, which negatively affect their work, – the company's management commented on the results of the survey. – Of course, the men were a little puzzled by this wish, but did not mind.

As a result, it was decided to add one day off to employees in addition to the rest, without withholding wages.

“This is the first time in France that a company has given its female employees a menstrual leave. Let's see what the experiment will lead to – reflect in Scop.

This kind of weekend is in a number of countries in Southeast Asia – in Japan and South Korea, as well as in several Chinese provinces. Their introduction is now being discussed in the Italian parliament.
