“The foundation of knowledge”: a huge cube of books appeared in the Street Art Museum in St. Petersburg
A work called “The Foundation of Knowledge” has appeared in the Street Art Museum – a huge cube made up of many books, the St. Petersburg TV channel reports.
According to the author Roman Matvienko, to create the “Knowledge Foundation” he used old publications that were not needed by the owners or were written off. Each of the faces of the cube was painted by Matvienko in front of the visitors using the technique of calligraphy.
The main message of the work is to remind people of the role of books in shaping our consciousness.
The Knowledge Foundation is also part of the Peter Reads movement. The work reminds museum visitors that literature is not only interesting, but seemingly unnecessary books have a chance for a second life.
Earlier it was reported that in one of the exhibition centers in New York opened a traditional oil sculpture. This year, it is dedicated to adolescents who are gradually returning to normal life after the coronavirus pandemic.
