There are currently no signs of a Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin, RBC reports on Wednesday, February 9.

“Here they are pumping up the fact that Russia will invade Ukraine, they say, what are we going to do, although there were no signs of this invasion,” the diplomat said during the conference.

Pankin also added that recently the information background around Ukraine has been very strongly pumped up.

Earlier in February, the US agency Bloomberg published a news item with an erroneous headline about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The material was later removed from the site, and the agency apologized for the false information. This incident is under investigation.

Later, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that Russia could invade Ukraine any day. Prior to that, he said that the offensive could begin as early as February 7th.
