Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the Deutsche Welle (DW) media company a NATO propaganda machine. She made the corresponding statement in her Telegram channel.
Thus, she commented on the statement by the official representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, that Washington condemns Russia’s decision to close the company’s office in Moscow. Zakharova noted that the German TV channel is funded from the state budget of Germany. The fact that the American Foreign Ministry supports him speaks for itself, she said.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also drew attention to the fact that the US State Department has not released a report about the fake Bloomberg. “About Russia Today, it was released, although there were no facts. And there are plenty of facts about Bloomberg, and the State Department is silent,” Zakharova said.
On February 3, Russia announced sanctions against Deutsche Welle. The authorities announced the closure of the organization’s correspondent point and the cancellation of the accreditation of all employees of the Deutsche Welle Russian bureau. In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry intends to initiate a procedure for considering the recognition of DW as a foreign agent.
