The leading Russian developer of systems-on-a-chip and devices based on them – the Research and Production Center “Electronic Computing and Information Systems” (JSC SPC “ELVIS”) – announced the creation of the first Russian mobile processor of the world level – the “Skif” model.
The novelty will be released on the global market under the name Scythian. “Skif” is an ARM-chip made on the 28-nm process technology, which includes four Cortex-A53 cores, operating at a frequency of 1.8 GHz. The manufacturer has already announced the planned overclocking to 2 GHz. The integrated GPU can handle 4K video at up to 60 frames per second and supports HEVC / H.264 codecs.
First of all, the novelty is designed for use in tablet computers. Test samples of “Skif” have already been handed over for testing to domestic manufacturers of electronics and software developers. The test devices work under the control of the Russian operating system Alt Linux with the pre-installed package of the domestic office software “My Office”. In the meantime, it became clear which game causes the most foul language.
