The first robot teacher will start working at Tomsk University from September 1
A robot teacher from Russian developers from September 1 will begin to “teach” service robotics and a number of other disciplines at the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics (TUSUR). It will also act as a “live” stand, Oleg Kivokurtsev, Development Director of Promobot, told TASS.
“The robot will“ teach ”students several disciplines at once and act as a“ live ”laboratory stand. Also, in addition to the robot, the Promobot Rooky robotics study kit will be sent to TUSUR. The Rooky manipulator arm is a copy of the Promobot service robot's arm adapted for autonomous operation, ”said the agency's interlocutor.
On the basis of “Promobot” it is planned to study such disciplines as programming, electronics and mechatronics, and also laboratory work will be carried out following the results of the lectures. TUSUR students will learn how to create and program robots. Their developments will help people solve a variety of tasks – from cargo delivery to processing requests in the banking sector.
80% of the robot consists of Russian components, this is important, since students will get acquainted with a wide range of domestic technologies – electronics, navigation systems, artificial intelligence. Working with existing Russian solutions will increase the readiness of students for the labor market.
Earlier it was reported that competitions among schoolchildren in robotic all-around were held in St. Petersburg. The teenagers made devices with their own hands, with the help of which you can catch garbage from the surface of the Gulf of Finland.
