The first fully Russian crew since 2000 will go to the ISS in March

On March 18, 2022, it is planned to launch the manned spacecraft Soyuz MS-21 with the first completely Russian crew since 2000, writes Russkiy kosmos (the official publication of Roscosmos).

It is reported that the crew will include Oleg Artemiev, Denis Matveev and Sergei Korsakov.

Cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov, Peter Dubrov and astronaut Mark Vande Hiem will return to Earth on the Soyuz MS-19 descent vehicle on March 28.

Meanwhile, the first launch of the Progress cargo vehicle in 2022 is scheduled for February 16, and the second is to take place in June. In addition, in the first half of the year, two re-docking of Soyuz MS-19 is planned – in February and March.

It is also reported that in 2022 eight walks of Russian cosmonauts into outer space will be required to complete flight tests and integrate the Nauka multipurpose laboratory module (MLM). Three of them in January will be performed by Anton Shkaplerov and Petr Dubrov, one more will take place in April, three in May and one in June.

Earlier it was reported that the medical board allowed the crew with actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko to fly to the ISS to shoot the film “Challenge”.

There was also information that in 2027 Russia could start building a new space station.
