The spacecraft, which will carry the fully civilian crew of Axiom Space, is scheduled to be launched to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Axiom-1 mission on February 21, 2022. This was announced by the head of the NASA manned flight program Katie Leaders.

“We are planning to launch the Axiom 1 mission to the ISS on February 21,” Leaders wrote on her Twitter.

In January, Axiom Space announced the names of tourists who will fly to the ISS in 2022. Former NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria will be in command of the crew, along with American investor and entrepreneur Larry Connor, Canadian investor and philanthropist Mark Pati and Israeli businessman Eitan Stibbe.
