Vladimir Dzhabarov
First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Volodymyr Dzhabarov responded to the call of the former Ambassador of Kiev to the United States Valery Chaly to break off diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Russia, saying that diplomatic relations are easy to break but difficult to restore. He is quoted by RBC.
He reminded Ukraine of the fate of Georgia, which, according to Dzhabarov, has repeatedly tried to restore relations with Moscow that were severed 12 years ago.
In addition, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova also answered Chalom. “Such statements testify to the desire to find a justification for the war unleashed by the Kiev regime against its own people,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, Chaly urged to prepare for the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia. According to him, Kiev must stop interacting with the aggressor. “It is necessary to prepare this decision and, in case of further steps, take it immediately,” the diplomat said.
Relations between Kiev and Moscow deteriorated sharply after the reunification of Crimea with Russia in March 2014 and the outbreak of conflict in Donbass in April of the same year. Part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions declared independence. Kiev tried to return them by force, but to no avail. Ukraine accuses Russia of armed aggression and occupation of Crimea and Donbass regions. The Kremlin rejects the claim.
