Production facilities turned into ruins.

On Monday, March 21, a powerful explosion destroyed the production facilities of a dynamite factory in northern Greece. As a result of the incident, three workers were killed and a security guard was injured.

This is reported by the local publication Proto Thema.

The explosion occurred in a village 30 kilometers east of the city of Grevena – about 420 km northwest of Athens. ELTEK, the company that manages the factory, said the victims of the explosion were three workers at the factory, who were initially thought to be missing. One security officer was also injured.

The shock wave from the explosion was felt throughout the region, a huge plume of smoke rose hundreds of meters, and the fields around the explosion site were littered with debris. Residents who contacted the authorities about the incident said that the explosion was similar to an earthquake.

The mayor of Grevena, Yorgos Dastamanis, said that the factory buildings were completely destroyed. He also noted that the plant was very modern. Its construction began in 2010, and it began to work in 2015.

Recall that an ammonia leak was eliminated on the territory of the Sumykhimprom plant, which was fired upon by Russian invaders on the morning of March 21.
