The explosion thundered at a wedding in Afghanistan

by alex

An explosion occurred during a wedding in the Afghan province of Khost. This is reported by the Tolo News TV channel in its Twitter account.

According to the latest data, five people were killed and six injured. Information about the condition of the victims and the details of the incident have not yet been reported, but it is known that the bomb was planted in a motorcycle.

In mid-August, several dozen people – at least 40 – were killed in an explosion at a wedding in the Afghan capital, Kabul. The cause of the explosion was a suicide bomber who blew himself up. The spokesman for the country's interior ministry, Nusrat Rahimi, confirmed that the incident was a terrorist attack. The Taliban (banned in Russia) denied any involvement in the incident.

The Taliban was formed in 1994 at the height of the Afghan war. In 1996-2001, the militants were in power in the country, and after being overthrown in 2001, they began to wage a guerrilla war with government and NATO forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Taliban and the government are currently trying to find ways to reach a political compromise.
