The expert spoke about the differences between the Russian mobile OS “Aurora” from iOS and Android. The operating system is undergoing beta testing.
The new Russian mobile operating system Aurora will not compete with other popular systems such as iOS and Android, said Pavel Korostelev, head of product promotion at Code Security.
The developers of the domestic “operating system” earlier announced the beginning of public beta testing, in which anyone can take part. Aurora was originally developed by Nokia. However, in 2011, the Finns abandoned the project. The product team founded a separate startup. When he faced financial difficulties, he went under the wing of Russian investors.
According to Korostelev, the goal of Aurora from the very beginning was a more secure data exchange. This mobile operating system, unlike others, works only with Russian servers, it is certified by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) and the FSB.
“It is inseparable from the mobile devices it is used on. Accordingly, it will not work to put it on a gadget running iOS or Android, ”the expert told Free Press.
Earlier, Roskachestvo named the main danger of old smartphones. Not wanting to update the gadget, the user becomes an easy prey for scammers.
