The prevalence of depression in people who have recently recovered from the coronavirus is 29%, said Natalia Petrova, head of the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology of the Faculty of Medicine of St. Petersburg State University, member of the executive committee of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists.
“The prevalence of depression in patients who have recently recovered from coronavirus infection reaches more than 29% of cases,” TASS quoted Petrova as saying at the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference on Psychiatry in Kirov.
She noted that those who have suffered a severe illness have a syndrome of consequences of intensive care.
According to her, mental disorders are manifested in anxiety, depressive disorders with significant somatogenic asthenia.
