Robert Epstein, Ph.D. from Harvard University, told the Russians how to avoid surveillance on smartphones.
So, according to the specialist, in order to limit surveillance on the network, it is necessary to abandon the operation of popular services and devices. At the same time, smartphones based on Android, according to Epstein, should be stopped altogether, since this system tracks all data and user activity. ProtonMail has been named as a more secure alternative to the Gmail email service and operates under strict privacy laws.
Another way to reduce surveillance is to avoid smart gadgets. The fact is that they are able to eavesdrop on conversations even if the user has not activated them.
Instead of the Google search engine, the Russians were offered to use the StartPage.com search engine, which does not collect user data. Frequent clearing of cache and cookies, and using a VPN were cited as other ways to ensure digital security.
