Daniil Chernov, director of the Solar appScreener center of Rostelecom-Solar, told why unverified applications cannot be installed on Android, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
The expert notes that cybercriminals, as a rule, distribute free copies of software. Hackers wrap malicious functions in there, which can include ransomware, as well as Trojans and keyloggers that send user data to a third-party server.
Most likely, the pirated copy will be a free application that can be found on the net. The expert noted that cybercriminals specifically monitor popular search queries in order to place malicious code in the applications that are in greatest demand.
Earlier, Roskachestvo warned about dubious investment applications. Amid growing interest in cryptocurrency, cases of fraud have become more frequent. According to experts, all applications are controlled through a single infrastructure and created by one group of hackers.
