Former football player of Manchester United and the Russian national team Andrei Kanchelskis described the career future of Fiorentina striker Alexander Kokorin. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“Returning to Russia will put an end to his career. You sink faster in a swamp, ”Kanchelskis said. In his opinion, Kokorin will automatically end his career by starting to play in the Russian championship. The ex-Manchester United player added that Kokorin needs to look for rental options in Italy or another European championship.
On December 6, it was reported that Fiorentina would prematurely terminate the contract with Kokorin, which is valid until 2024, if it cannot send the player on loan to another team. It was noted that a number of Russian clubs are interested in the player.
Kokorin is known for his performances for Dynamo, Zenit, Sochi and Spartak. From 2011 to 2017, he played for the Russian national team.
