Russians will be banned from obtaining European citizenship in exchange for investments

The European Union will refuse “golden passports” for citizens of Russia and their families. This was announced by the German government, reports RIA Novosti.
“In particular, the opportunity for wealthy Russians to obtain the so-called golden passport and thus European citizenship for themselves and their family members should be eliminated,” the German Cabinet said in a statement. The United States, the United Kingdom and Canada will join these restrictions.
At the same time, Western countries agreed to disconnect some Russian banks that were under sanctions from the SWIFT international payment system. “If necessary” the list of credit organizations can be expanded.
