The European Union will introduce vaccination certificates within three months
The leaders of the EU countries agreed on the need to introduce electronic vaccination certificates. This was announced by German Chancellor Angela Merkel following the results of the first day of the virtual EU summit, MIR 24 TV channel reports.
“An important point in the negotiations was the introduction of digital confirmation of vaccination. Here everyone is unanimous in the opinion that we need it. Now it is important to launch the certification process in the states and to combine the national systems of the EU countries, ”said the head of the German government.
Merkel said it will take about three months to create a common database of certificates. The German chancellor also noted that due to mutations in the coronavirus, vaccination will be permanent. In addition, the leaders of the EU countries expect to more actively identify the sick. This will help the start of sales of systems for self-testing.
