The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is going to start checking how the clinical trials of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine were conducted in compliance with ethical standards: they were allegedly forced to participate in the military and civil servants. This is reported by the Financial Times.

Information about the alleged violation of research ethics, published by the British agency Reuters, was rejected by the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev. He stressed that it is not true. According to him, no such practice was carried out, and verification is a usual procedure for such cases.

“We are not aware of any EMA concerns regarding Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and the leaked information about such concerns is a concrete example of how people are trying to undermine the EMA approval process, which should be impartial and non-discriminatory,” Dmitrieva quotes RIA News.

Earlier, the media, citing sources in the Kremlin, reported that the United States, together with its allies, are preparing a large-scale information attack on the Sputnik V vaccine. According to the source, the information campaign will involve, in particular, the Soros Foundation, Reuters and the BBC, whose target audience will be the European countries that have registered the Russian vaccine – Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Montenegro, San Marino and North Macedonia.
